It was originally founded in 1894 as the Thompsonville Board of Trade. During the industrial revolution, the name was changed to the Enfield Businessman’s Association and then to the Enfield Chamber of Commerce in 1947. A few years later following the growth of Suffield, Somers, and East Windsor, the name was changed to the North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.
