Backing the B.A.R. Grant Program Supports Black Entrepreneurs Seeking a Liquor License

Black entrepreneurs looking to start or improve a business requiring a liquor license can receive support through an NAACP initiative offering financial and other support.

Backing the B.A.R., which is being offered with support from Bacardi, has more than $350,000 available for acceleration grants, education, and other support services for Black-owned bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and other small businesses. The program is accepting applications through 6 p.m. on July 30.

Those selected for an award receive a $10,000 grant as well as financial, education, and mentorships support. The program is open to majority Black-owned businesses that currently have a liquor license or are aspiring to get one.
