The Women’s Business Development Council has announced its third round of funding for its Equity Match Grant Program, which will give awards of between $2,500 and $10,000 to women-owned small businesses in Connecticut.
The grants will go toward clearly defined projects that will have a measurable impact on the applicant’s business, its growth, and profitability. Applications won’t be received until a period between Sept. 7 and 28, but the WBDC is encouraging applicants to begin preparing now.
Applicants must meet a number of requirements, including:
- At least 51 percent women-owned
- In business for at least two years as of Sept. 28, 2021, with annual sales revenue above $25,000
- Must be headquartered in Connecticut, registered in Connecticut, or owned by a Connecticut resident
- Applicants must provide matching funds of at least 25 percent, unless they are in an economically distressed area as defined by the Department of Economic and Community Development
- Funds can be used for operating expenses, payroll, or real estate improvements
- Certain businesses are ineligible, and applicants cannot have received a WBDC grant within the past two years
The WBDC is hosting several informational webinars on the program. For full details, visit this site.
