About

Representing a diverse mix of hundreds of nonprofits, ranging from health care companies to arts and cultural organizations, the CT Community Nonprofit (Alliance) offers members up-to-date information on issues affecting nonprofits, education and training programs, networking opportunities, and a united front on policy and advocacy.

The Alliance is built around three strategic commitments:

  • Build the capacity of our members to be vibrant and financially sustainable, and achieve excellence.
  • Advocate to ensure that the vital role of nonprofits (our members) is valued and fully supported by public policy and adequate funding.
  • Be a primary resource for our members and other stakeholders.

Resources & Services

Resources

The Alliance offers resources on starting a nonprofit, raising funds, finding employees and volunteers, and managing finances. There is also a jobs board for members to post open positions and connect with candidates.

Professional Development

Educational opportunities available through The Alliance allow nonprofits to develop their skills in grant writing, marketing, governance, and more. In addition to a regular calendar of professional development and training opportunities, The Alliance maintains a library of webinars and on-demand trainings.

CT Nonprofit Center

The CT Nonprofit Center is a shared workspace allowing nonprofits to share ideas, services, and knowledge. Located in downtown Hartford, it is the second largest nonprofit center in the Northeast and includes office space, conference rooms, a shared kitchen, and other amenities.

Member Benefits

Members of The Alliance enjoy benefits such as grant opportunities, fundraising options, strategic guidance, and more. The organization also has an Alliance Allies Vendor Program to connect members with vendors who are experienced in working with nonprofits and a Preferred Purchasing Program to provide employment opportunities to residents with disabilities.
