Initiative for Competitive Inner City is an organization to promote economic prosperity in America’s inner cities through private sector engagement that leads to job, income and wealth creation for local residents. The organization conducts research on economic development initiatives to determine what efforts are most effective, and also manages several inner city business programs to provide capital, guidance, and other support.

Research

ICIC’s research helps public, private, nonprofit, and community leaders understand and respond to the economic development challenges facing under-resourced communities. The organization also issues case studies and other resources for city and economic development leaders to provide guidance on the most effective strategies.

Urban Business Initiatives

ICIC’s urban networks and nationally recognized inner city business programs are designed to identify and support the growth of businesses in the urban core. These include educational and mentoring services, networking opportunities, and capital access.
